The argument about need for government regulation is irrefutable now that intervention has been required to protect from too much system damage.

That one's a dead horse. Stop beating.

WW: you're unhinged. You're world is crashing around your feet. Yes, Weisberg makes no sense and Krugman is absolutely right. It's not that hard to prove. The facts have been spelled out by an awful lot of folks in an awful lot of places, starting with Ben Bernanke (wise man, no?). And , yes, your worldview has been proven irrevocably false.

Speaking of self interest: better keep the lies coming, an make them sound good, because you want to keep CATO and your job alive! Sheesh, if you were were to say Krugman was right you'd probably lose your job, like poor ol Chris at the National Review.

You're right, Will. I hereby apologize for causing the financial crisis. And for the next one, although I no doubt publicly blame it on moral hazard and loose monetary policy. I also apologize for that tainted spinach last year.

-- Larry White

Commenting on Slate seems to be down for maintenance.

This is clearly the fault of too little regulation.
